Welcome to the Providence Home website!

Providence Home was started in 1928, and is an inclusive project run by the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi in East Africa,
dedicated to empowering the needy of Uganda regardless of ethnicity, religion, disability, illness, or age. We follow the
Franciscan charisma of solidarity with those neglected by society at large and dedicate ourselves to helping them realize their
full potential. The home is located in Nkokonjeru, in the Mukono district of Uganda, a lush and beautiful area that has suffered
from civil war, HIV/AIDS, economic downturns, and a lack of infrastructure. With the help and prayers of friends around the world,
we are trying to transform the region and the country by exemplifying what can be accomplished through dedication to and love
for our brothers and sisters and by demonstrating the amazing abilities of those that society rejects. Providence Home offers
both,  residential and non – residential services, to the people with disabilities, the aged, the orphans and needy children.
